Leana Hoang began costuming theater productions in the spring of 2019, her senior year of high school.
Since she was a little girl, Leana Hoang has always loved to play dress up. Possessing a love for visual storytelling all her life, mostly stemming from crafting Halloween costumes for friends, it was a senior project for the International Thespian Society kickstarted a love for visual storytelling.
After curating ancestral looks in The Addams Family musical, Leana accepted a place at Yale University, matriculating in fall 2019. During her college career, she has held both acting and creative roles in nineteen undergraduate productions, as well as participating as an orchestral percussionist. She is an alumni of the Yale Dramatic Association and Asian-American Collective of Theatermakers, and is outspoken advocate for racial, gender, and neurological diversity in theater.
Half Vietnamese and half Hmong-Chinese, she is a second-generation American and first-generation college graduate. In May of 2023, she earned her Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature, studying various writing genres from autobiographical poetry to television dramas.
She has previously held professional positions at the Yale Center for British Art, Silliman College Office, and the Yale Alumni Fund. Hailing originally from McDonough, GA, she now resides in New Haven, CT and is excited for wherever her new career takes her next!
